An Avant-garde Collection

Inspiration and Idea
A collection inspired by my brother who has autism which I developed over the course of three weeks. It includes various prints that I developed and got printed on fabric as well as shoe development. I based this collection on the basis of “truth” and “lies” as a part of my Parsons Summer School Course. I got the opportunity to explore the use of photoshop more and learn the process of flats and working sketches.
The collection explores themes of different stimulus in the environment which affect people with autism or those on the spectrum, different to how “normal” people would react to it. It incorporates colours, textures, prints, fabrics, materials and visuals that are soothing and calm the brain specifically for those with OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) or ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) which, while “disorders” of their own are also symptoms of the ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder).
